If you aren't comfortable taking MARTA (it's safe, and a short ride, but some people are nervous on systems they aren't familiar with), then you can also get an Uber at the airport to take you directly to one of the places I've mentioned. If you're going to go to the Aquarium, consider arranging for your ticket ahead of time so you don't have to wait in line, which can get somewhat long at busy tmes. From there, it's an easy walk or a very quick Uber ride to the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coke, Centennial Park, CNN Center (good idea to arrange for tickets ahead of time for a tour of the CNN studios), Atlanta's ferris wheel (not quite London-scale, but amusing). Hop on MARTA (either the red or gold line, doesn't matter) and take it up to the Peachtree Center station. Don't rent a car - the parking downtown can be difficult and pricey.

So keep that in mind for planning purposes.

If it's a busy day (i.e., the day before Thanksgiving, or the Sunday afterwards), you may not have as much time as you think, because the security lines are HORRENDOUS getting back into the airport.
